The purpose of the compensatory education program is to meet the educational needs of economically disadvantaged children. Participants include students at risk of failing. Compensatory education program funds supplement services needed to raise the academic achievement of K-12 students in basic and advanced skills. Additional support may be provided through staff development, and health and guidance services. Parents have the opportunity to participate in the design and implementation of the program. The CEAC is composed of parents, school staff and community members, work cooperatively to increase academic achievement.
