Welcome to our beautiful Westport Heights Library

Westport Heights Elementary School opened its new two room state of the art Wonder of Reading Library in 2001. Thanks to funds raised from our Booster Club and a matching grant from the Wonder of Reading organization, our library is now a vibrant focal point for our school. The Wonder of Reading is a non profit organization whose purpose is to inspire the love of reading. Their mission is to have a specific impact on reading in Southern California elementary schools. For more information on this organization, go to: http://www.wonderofreading.org/
We are seeking volunteers to read one-on-one with students in the Library. These struggling readers need guidance and friendship from someone like you. After a three-hour training session, we match each volunteer with one student, and they work together for the school year. Volunteers work with students one hour every week during school hours.
